Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday handed over more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly selected candidates during the latest edition of the Centre’s Rozgar Mela initiative, aimed at accelerating recruitment across government departments and expanding employment opportunities for youth.
The large-scale recruitment programme was conducted simultaneously at 47 centres across the country through video conferencing, with newly appointed candidates joining multiple ministries and public sector departments.
According to officials, the fresh recruits have been selected for positions in key sectors including railways, home affairs, financial services, higher education and the health ministry. Candidates from different states participated in the event before beginning their postings in various central government offices and institutions.
Addressing the appointees during the programme, the Prime Minister said employment generation and youth empowerment remain among the government’s major priorities. He also highlighted the Centre’s continued push to speed up hiring processes across departments.
Ahead of the event, Modi had reiterated the government’s commitment towards creating opportunities for young Indians through regular recruitment campaigns and skill-driven initiatives.
The Rozgar Mela programme was launched to fast-track appointments in government services and reduce delays in recruitment procedures. Officials stated that with the latest distribution drive, nearly 12 lakh appointment letters have now been issued under the initiative since its launch.
The Centre has been organising the employment fairs periodically across India as part of its broader effort to strengthen public sector staffing and provide job opportunities to eligible candidates in multiple departments.
