Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday began operations from a newly established office complex named ‘Seva Teerth’, marking a symbolic and administrative shift from the iconic South Block on Raisina Hill.

The transition took place on February 13, a date that coincides with the anniversary of New Delhi’s formal inauguration as the capital in 1931. Senior ministers Manohar Lal and Jitendra Singh accompanied the Prime Minister, along with top officials from the PMO and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.

‘Seva Teerth’ and the Citizen-First Motto
After unveiling the plaque inscribed with ‘Seva Teerth’ and the guiding principle “Nagrik Devo Bhava” (Citizen is akin to God), the Prime Minister performed a brief ceremonial ritual and immediately began clearing official files. The new complex consolidates the Prime Minister’s Office, the National Security Council Secretariat, and the Cabinet Secretariat within a single administrative hub.

PM Rahat Scheme Gets Green Signal
Among the first approvals at the new premises was the launch of the PM Rahat Scheme. The initiative promises cashless medical treatment up to ₹1.5 lakh for accident victims, aimed at ensuring timely emergency care without financial burden.

Boost for Women and Rural Economy
In a major push toward women-led development, the Prime Minister set a revised target of creating six crore ‘lakhpati didis’ by March 2029. Government sources noted that over three crore women have already crossed the income benchmark under existing livelihood missions.

Agriculture and Startup Push
The government also doubled the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund to ₹2 lakh crore to strengthen supply chains and rural storage facilities. Additionally, Startup India Fund of Funds 2.0 was cleared with a ₹10,000 crore corpus to accelerate innovation in deep-tech, manufacturing, and emerging sectors.
