Delhi Minister Parvesh Verma on Wednesday conducted an on-site inspection of the drain near Saket Gurudwara and assured residents that long-standing sewerage and drainage problems in the area will soon be addressed. He acknowledged the lack of major sewer-line projects in the city over the last decade and promised swift solutions before the onset of the monsoon.

"In the last 10 years, no major sewer-line project was undertaken in Delhi. Sewer lines have not been laid in many colonies and villages. So people made their own arrangements," Verma said during the inspection. "All officers are present here and we will find a solution to it soon. South Delhi MP and the MLA from here are also present. I will go wherever they take me and will find a solution to every problem facing the people."

The minister emphasized the urgency of completing necessary repairs and infrastructure upgrades before heavy rains hit the city. "We are trying to do the maximum before the onset of the monsoon... We will try to get Delhi rid of waterlogging," he added.
